A message appeared on the screen of the affected users that “Account Under Review” and that it is being checked whether the account complies with WhatsApp’s terms of service or not. The message also said that the result of the review would be given within 24 hours. It also showed information related to using WhatsApp responsibly and the stolen phone.

After this incident, many users expressed their displeasure on social media. Some users said that their accounts were blocked without any warning, while even after appealing, they were only getting a message with a 24-hour review. Many people said that their daily work depends on WhatsApp, due to which they had to face difficulties.
