During this time, when journalists asked him whether he would meet Anna Hazare regarding this movement, he flatly refused. Deepke said in a harsh tone, "no way! I think the youth should now take things into their own hands. People who have turned 60-70 should retire—be it politics or activism. They should go and sit in the ashram. This is a question of our future, the future of the students, let us decide. How long will old people continue to make our decisions?"
