In recent times, he has been in the headlines due to his statements regarding West Bengal of India. Akhtar Hussain has expressed apprehension that if BJP government is formed in West Bengal, then strict action may be taken on the issue of illegal immigrants.

He said that ‘a conspiracy is being hatched’ in the region which could burden his country with a refugee crisis.

According to the statement of MP Hussain, ‘There is no guarantee that in case of expulsion of Muslims from a neighboring country, a new wave of refugees will not arise.’ Appealing to the people to remain united, he said that ‘people should remain united, just as the country has always stood united.’ He believes that Bangladesh should respond unitedly against any external pressure or threat to its sovereignty.

Are the changes in the vote counting system also under discussion?

Meanwhile, a big decision has also been taken regarding vote counting centers in West Bengal. State Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Aggarwal has confirmed reducing the number of centers from 87 to 77. While in the 2021 elections, counting of votes took place at 108 centres, this time the number has been reduced. If necessary, further changes can be made in it.
