Dubai Burj Al Arab Closed: Dubai’s iconic 7-star hotel Burj Al Arab will be temporarily closed for 18 months due to a massive renovation. This will be the first time since its opening in 1999 that the hotel is undergoing such an extensive renovation. The move comes at a time when there are signs of geopolitical tension and decline in tourism in the region.
The hotel’s owner company Jumeirah Group said on Tuesday that the renovation work will be done in a phased manner and is expected to last for about 18 months. However, the company has also indicated that the situation regarding operations may change depending on the circumstances.
guests will be shifted
According to the information, guests who had bookings at the hotel during this period are being shifted to other luxury hotels around Dubai. There is also a possibility that limited operations may continue in some parts, but its final form will depend on renovation progress.
The responsibility of designing this major renovation project has been entrusted to renowned Paris interior architect Tristan Auer, who has previously worked on the design of many prestigious hotels and historical buildings. Their aim is to make this iconic hotel more modern, tech-enabled and equipped with ultra-luxury amenities.
One of the most luxury hotels in the world

The hotel was conceptualized in the 1990s by Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with the aim of creating a symbol for the city, like the Eiffel Tower for Paris or the Opera House for Sydney.

Recently, when Iran attacked Dubai, the risk of missile attack on this hotel also increased.
