A day after the Bankipur by-election in Bihar, Jan Suraj Party leader Prashant Kishore approached the Chief Electoral Officer with evidence. He accused Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma of rigging the election and misusing the police. Speaking to reporters after meeting with the election officer, Prashant Kishore said that what the Patna police have done over the past three days is in front of everyone. The police, in collusion with the government, have tried to sway the election in their favor. Every effort has been made to intimidate and threaten voters. He also alleged that criminals, in collusion with the police, have committed hooliganism, which the public has witnessed. Prashant Kishore has filed a named complaint against the Patna SSP and provided full details to the Election Commission. The Chief Electoral Officer has assured that he is ordering an investigation into the matter and that further action will be taken after the investigation.
All evidence submitted to the Election Commission
Prashant Kishore stated that he has evidence against the police officers and has submitted it to the Election Commission. He stated that he has informed the Commission that the Patna SSP has acted to undermine democracy. Voters were intimidated and members of his party were arrested. He will hold two press conferences today to present all the evidence to journalists so that the public can know the truth. He stated that if this matter is not properly investigated, he will not hesitate to go to court.
