New Delhi: Cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s ex Palash Muchhal remains in the news after the breakup of his marriage. First he was accused of cheating Smriti and financial fraud, now a new case has been registered against him for caste related remarks. After the case was registered, Palash’s lawyer has given clarification on these allegations.

Lawyer’s sharp reply

Palash’s lawyer said that the intentions of the person making the allegations are not clear. He asked, “If the incident took place on November 22, it is now the month of May. Why was no complaint filed for so many months?”

The lawyer further said that earlier these persons were talking only on economic issues. The issue of caste has suddenly been raised now. This clearly shows that this is being done to create publicity and pressure. We will respond to this matter legally.

The lawyer called it a ‘pressure tactic’

The lawyer alleged that this was a pressure tactic. He said that the Bombay High Court summoned him twice in the defamation case, but he did not come to the court. Now to put pressure on us they have filed this false atrocity case.

What is the new allegation against Palash?

On Wednesday, news came that a case has been registered against Palash Muchhal under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Act. Complainant Vigyan Prakash Mane is Smriti Mandhana’s childhood friend.

According to the complaint, on November 22, during an argument at the toll plaza on Sangli-Aastha Road, Palash said objectionable words regarding caste. Police have registered a case under sections 3(1), 351(2) and 352 and started investigation.

Serious allegations were made earlier also

Vigyan Prakash Mane has already made serious allegations against Palash. At the time of the divorce, he had claimed that Palash was caught red-handed with another girl at a wedding function.

He had told the media that at that time Indian women cricketers beat Palash a lot. Mane has also filed a case of fraud of Rs 40 lakh against Palash and claimed that he has strong evidence.

Palash Muchhal has so far rejected all the allegations outright. He has called them nonsense and lies. Currently a legal battle is going on between the two parties. Palash’s lawyer says that he will fight all the allegations and bring out the truth.
