big mistake! When Yashasvi Jaiswal does leg break bowling then why is he trying his hand at wicketkeeping, will his career be ruined?

by

Yashasvi Jaiswal: Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of the promising players of India. He has made significant contributions to the Indian cricket team so far in all three formats as a left-handed opening batsman. Yashasvi made his Test debut for India in the year 2023 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Since then he has performed brilliantly as an opening batsman in Tests. Jaiswal made his T20 debut for India in the year 2023 and after that in 2025 he got a chance to make his ODI debut for the Indian cricket team. Till now he has played a few ODI and T20 matches for India.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is included in the Indian cricket team as an opening batsman. These days, in the Indian cricket team, more opportunities are being given to such players who can make additional contribution to the team. If there is a batsman then he should contribute to the team through bowling. Whereas if there is a bowler then he should contribute to the team in batting. If the additional player is not able to bat or bowl for the team, then he can at least do wicketkeeping.

Yashasvi Jaiswal tried his hand in this new thing

Yashasvi Jaiswal is not getting a chance in India's ODI and T20 team. He continuously plays only Test cricket for Team India. Apart from batting, he is not able to make any additional contribution to the team. Now he is learning new things apart from batting to make additional contribution to the team. Yashasvi Jaiswal is now learning wicketkeeping.

Actually, Yashasvi Jaiswal is playing domestic cricket these days. He is playing for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy. He has now decided to take up wicketkeeping. Now Yayaswal is learning wicketkeeping. He wants to make additional contribution to the team with his stories. Videos and pictures of his wicketkeeping are going viral very fast on social media.

Why is Jaiswal trying his hand at wicketkeeping?

Apart from batting, Yashasvi Jaiswal is trying his hand at the role of wicketkeeper with gloves for Team India because players who make additional contribution apart from batting for Team India are given priority. Players like KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are present among such players. All these batsmen do wicketkeeping in the team in addition to batting. In such a situation, he gets more opportunities in ODI and T20. Whereas Yashasvi Jaiswal does not have the art of wicket-keeping, which he is now adding to himself.

Will the decision of wicketkeeping ruin Yashasvi's career?

Will Yashasvi Jaiswal's decision to keep wickets prove wrong? Will this decision ruin his cricket career? We are saying this because there are already many batsmen in Team India who do wicketkeeping. In such a situation, it is very difficult for him to get a chance as a wicketkeeper batsman. But Yashasvi Jaiswal could prove to be more economical for Team India than the ball. If he had improved his bowling further, there would have been more opportunities for him to get chances in every format for his career and Team India.

Let us tell you that Yashasvi Jaiswal is also known for leg spin bowling. He will also be seen bowling leg spin many times in domestic cricket. Jaiswal has also bowled leg spin for the Indian cricket team. In such a situation, if he had strengthened his bowling, it would have been more economical for his career because after the departure of Yuvvendra Chahal, there is no good leg spin bowler in Team India.

When did Yashasvi Jaiswal start bowling for Team India?

If Yashasvi Jaiswal had sharpened his leg spin bowling instead of wicketkeeping, his career could have gained more momentum. Yashasvi has bowled a total of 4 overs in the test and has conceded 27 runs. He has not got a single wicket. At the same time, he has bowled 1 over for Team India in ODI and has spent only 3 runs. He has bowled 1 over in T20 and conceded 11 runs. Now if Jaiswal does his bowling cup work and does not try his hand at wicket-keeping, he will get the benefit.

Indian cricket team coach Gaumat Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill will also have the opportunity to use Yashasvi Jaiswal as the best leg spin batsman in the Indian cricket team. If he is not given a clear and direct message now, then he will progress only in wicketkeeping along with batting, which will not be of any benefit to him in the Indian cricket team because India already has batsmen like KL Rahul, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan. Rather, if the captain and coach ask him to work on bowling, then it will be beneficial for him and Team India in the future.
