Manipur Chief Minister इयुमनाम खेमचाद सिंह met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence in New Delhi on Wednesday. Various issues related to Manipur were discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister's Secretariat said, Amit Shah listened carefully to the issues of the state and assured that the central government will take all possible steps to fulfill the wishes and aspirations of the people of Manipur.

After the meeting, the Chief Minister said, Amit Shah will visit Manipur in the first week of October. During the visit, he will lay the foundation stone of the proposed new medical college in Senapati district and review other development projects of the state. According to the Chief Minister, Amit Shah has given consent to lay the foundation stone of the medical college.

Chief Minister Ilyumnam Khemchand Singh raised various state-related issues before the Union Home Minister. According to the Chief Minister's Secretariat, Amit Shah listened to the issues in detail and assured the Centre's cooperation. However, detailed details of all the issues discussed in the meeting were not published.

Chief Minister said, Amit Shah will visit Manipur in the first week of October. During this visit, along with laying the foundation stone of the new medical college in Senapati district, other development projects of the state will be reviewed.

According to the Chief Minister's Secretariat, the approval for setting up the medical college was recently given by the State Cabinet. The institute will be established in Senapati district. This district has a large population of Naga community.

The proposed medical college in Senapati district is a project related to the expansion of health and education system. According to the information given by Chief Minister, Amit Shah has given consent to lay the foundation stone of the project.

Chief Minister's department said, Amit Shah will review the medical college as well as other development projects during his visit. The detailed list of which projects will be reviewed has not been published.

In the meeting, Amit Shah also praised the resumption of Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati bus service. The state government restarted this inter-state public transport service on August 21 after almost three years.

According to government and local reports, a total of 125 passengers traveled on this route in two buses and five passenger cars on the first day. The buses reach Guwahati via Nagaland via sensitive areas like Kangpokpi and Senapati.

Amit Shah also praised the initiative of the state government in restoring the free movement of people on National Road-2. NH-2 connects Manipur to Nagaland and then to Assam.

After the ethnic conflict that started in 2023, normal traffic on this route was disrupted. When the bus service resumed on August 21, 125 passengers traveled from Imphal to Guwahati.

Public transport service on the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati route was disrupted for almost three years. According to reports, public transportation on this important interstate route has been affected following the ethnic conflict that began in 2023.

During his visit to Manipur in October, Amit Shah will also review other development projects of the state. The Chief Minister said that the Central Government will provide all possible support to the state in the field of development.

Taking forward projects related to health, transport and infrastructure in the state is a priority of the government. Review of the foundation stone laying and development project of the medical college is part of this initiative.

The violence of the last few years has affected the social, economic and transportation systems of Manipur. Restoration of normal life is a big challenge before the state government.

Efforts are being made to normalize public transport and inter-district connectivity through the resumption of bus services and initiatives to increase free movement on NH-2.
