Women’s T20 World Cup: Harmanpreet is the top run scorer, who is ahead in taking wickets?

Only 2 days are left for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 to start. This tournament of 12 teams is going to start from Friday (June 12). The Indian team will start its campaign against Pakistan on June 14. After this it will compete with Netherlands, South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur is on top along with former captain Mithali Raj in terms of scoring the most runs for India in the Women’s T20 World Cup. Both have 726-726 runs in their names. Harmanpreet will leave Mithali behind as soon as she scores the first run in this edition. Smriti Mandhana is at number three in this list. This left-handed opening batsman has scored 524 runs in 25 innings. Smriti is followed by Jemimah Rodrigues (407) and Poonam Raut (375).

Leg spinner Poonam Yadav is India’s highest wicket taker in the Women’s T20 World Cup. He took 28 wickets in just 18 innings between 2014 and 2020. Whereas Deepti Sharma is at second position with 19 wickets in 19 innings. To overtake Poonam, Deepti will have to take 10 wickets in this edition, which does not seem too difficult. In terms of taking the most wickets for India, Radha Yadav (18 wickets) is at third position, while Renuka Singh (14 wickets) is at fourth position.
