Budget allocated Rs 5,110 crore
According to media reports, the Delhi government has launched the official online portal for the “Delhi Lakshmi Yojana,” a scheme aimed at empowering women financially, starting August 1, 2026. Under this scheme, eligible women in Delhi will receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500. Launched by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the scheme aims to benefit approximately 1.7 million women in Delhi, and the government has allocated a budget of ₹5,110 crore.
Who will get the benefit of the scheme
Eligibility Criteria: To benefit from the scheme, a woman applicant must meet the following criteria: She must be between 21 and 60 years of age. She must have been a resident of Delhi for at least 10 years and be a registered voter. Her family’s total annual income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. She must be the eldest female member of her family.
Who will not get the benefit
Income Tax Payers, Government employees, PSU employees, GST filers, women with more than 3 children and families who own a four-wheeler (car) or whose electricity bill has been more than 2,400 units in the last 12 months are not eligible for this.
Required Documents
You must have the following documents with you when you apply:
- Mandatory Documents: Aadhar Card, Delhi Voter ID Card, Passport Size Photograph and Signature are all valid for identification.
- 10 years residence certificate (any one): Delhi Voter ID, Ration Card, Driving License, Copy of Electricity or Gas Bill.
- Proof of Age (any one): Birth Certificate, 10th Marksheet, Driving License or PAN Card.
- Bank Account: Passbook of bank account linked with Aadhaar card for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- Support Letter: It is mandatory to upload the endorsement letter signed by the Member of Parliament (MP) or MLA (MLA) of the local constituency.

You can apply through the official website in these easy steps:
- Visit the website: First of all visit the official portal delhi.gov.in.
- Start Registration: Click on the ‘Apply / Registration’ option on the homepage.
- Citizen Login: Click on ‘Register Now’ on the Citizen Login page that opens.
- Enter Details: Enter your Aadhaar Number, Name as printed in Aadhaar, Gender and Date of Birth in the Applicant Registration Form.
- Generate ID: Enter the captcha code and click ‘Continue.’ Your Registration ID and Password will be created.
- Login and fill out the form: Now log in with your new ID and password. Answer the eligibility questions and fill in your personal and family information.
- Bank and Document Upload: Enter bank account details and upload all required documents and scanned letter signed by MP/MLA.
- Submit: Preview the entire application carefully and click the Submit button. Download your Acknowledgment Receipt for future reference.
Payment Options
The government is giving two options to the beneficiaries to receive the amount of ₹2500:
- Option 1: ₹1,500 per month will be credited to your bank account as a Recurring Deposit (RD) or Fixed Deposit (FD) and ₹1,000 will be sent to your Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) digital wallet, which you can spend on essentials.
- Option 2: You can deposit the amount of Rs 2,500 directly into your RD or FD account, which will be given to you in lump sum along with interest after 3 years.
