1 big good news for daughters in UP, government gave a gift

Lucknow. The government has taken a big step to promote girls’ education in Uttar Pradesh. Now, if two daughters of the same family are studying in school or college, then the tuition fees of one of the daughters can be waived. After the announcement by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the process of implementing this scheme has started from the new academic session. The government has issued necessary guidelines to the education department in this regard.

Which daughters will get the benefit?

The benefit of this facility will be available to the daughters of those families who fall under the income limit fixed by the government. If more than one daughter of a family is studying in a school, college or educational institution, then relief will be given in the fees of the second daughter. According to the government order, either the concerned educational institution itself will waive the tuition fees or it will be reimbursed by the state government.

Information sought from schools

To implement the scheme, the Education Department has sought information from schools affiliated to UP Board, CBSE and ICSE. Schools have been asked to provide details of girl students studying in classes 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th who come under the purview of this scheme.

Schools will also send fee records

The Secondary Education Department has also sought information about tuition fees charged from girl students from self-financed schools. This will enable the government to know how many girl students will benefit under the scheme and on what basis the fees will be reimbursed.

Daughters’ education will get a boost

The aim of the government is to provide help so that the education of daughters is not affected due to financial reasons. This decision is expected to provide relief to those families where more than one daughter is pursuing education. After the implementation of the new system, eligible girl students will get financial help to continue their studies and their inclination towards higher education may also increase.
