India’s Blunt Message To Nepal’s PM Balen Shah: No role of third party is acceptable in the bilateral affairs of India and Nepal, bluntly to the Indian Foreign Ministry to PM Balen Shah.

New Delhi. India has clearly rejected Nepali Prime Minister Balesh Shah’s call for Britain to mediate in the India-Nepal border dispute. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has bluntly said that it should be clear to all concerned parties that no role of any third party is acceptable in bilateral matters between India and Nepal. Responding to a media question regarding Nepal Prime Minister Balen Shah’s ‘encroachment by India’ comment, Randhir Jaiswal said, we have taken cognizance of the comments made by the Prime Minister of Nepal as well as the statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of Nepal regarding the India-Nepal border. About 98 percent of the India-Nepal border has already been demarcated. However, some issues remain unresolved in some parts. This situation has arisen due to change in the course of Gandak river.

Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhi Jaiswal further said, in addition, there are cases of cross-border encroachment and encroachment on no-man’s land in some demarcated areas, which are being jointly mapped. We have established bilateral mechanisms to resolve all border issues. It should be clear to all concerned that there is no role for third parties in any bilateral matter between India and Nepal.

Giving information about the delegation of Nepal’s ruling Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) which is currently visiting India, Jaiswal said that RSP President Rabi Lamichhane is in India. As you know, there are relations and regular contacts between the political parties of both India and Nepal which are continuing. RSP President Rabi Lamichhane is meeting many people in India. He is also scheduled to have several high level meetings with senior leaders.
