All 3 BJP Rajya Sabha Candidates From MP Win Unopposed: In Madhya Pradesh, all three BJP Rajya Sabha candidates Tarun Chugh, Rajneesh Aggarwal and Mahesh Kewat won unopposed.
New Delhi. In Madhya Pradesh, all three Rajya Sabha candidates of BJP, Tarun Chugh, Rajneesh Aggarwal and Mahesh Kewat have won unopposed even before the elections. Actually, today was the last date for withdrawal of nominations and after the completion of its stipulated time, only these three candidates were left in the field, due to which the Returning Officer declared them victorious. Earlier, the nomination of Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan was cancelled. Due to which BJP’s third candidate Mahesh Kewat won easily. Action has been taken against Meenakshi for not providing information about the criminal cases pending against her in her affidavit and not giving full mention of her assets.

However, Congress has challenged the Returning Officer’s decision of canceling the nomination of Meenakshi Natarajan in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will hear this matter tomorrow i.e. on Friday. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Meenakshi Natarajan, had requested the court to hear the petition immediately, but the court has asked it to be heard tomorrow. It is noteworthy that elections are to be held on 26 Rajya Sabha seats in 12 states on June 18. A total of 28 candidates are in the fray in this election.

Considering the numerical strength in Madhya Pradesh, BJP was winning two seats and Congress was winning one seat. In this context, Congress had fielded only one candidate in the form of Meenakshi Natarajan, whereas BJP first declared Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Aggarwal as candidates and later fielded Mahesh Kewat as the third candidate. This increased Congress’s tension a bit because cross voting could take place in the elections. Now that the nomination of the Congress candidate has been cancelled, the third candidate of BJP has also won.
