Modi said, let us celebrate August 15 with great pomp and show. Pay tribute to the freedom fighters, take a pledge for a developed India. Har Ghar Tricolor campaign was started in 2022 under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. The Har Ghar Tricolor campaign added a new energy to the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Since then, every house tricolor campaign is organized every year in the month of August. Under this campaign, the tricolor is hoisted at every house and a tricolor rally is taken out. Its main objective is to promote respect for the tricolor and the feeling of patriotism in the minds of people.
Independence celebration will be something special this year
The 80th Independence Day of India will be celebrated on 15th August 2026. This year's independence celebrations are going to be something special as for the first time the national song Vande Mataram will be sung at the Red Fort on Independence Day. To commemorate the completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram, flowers will be showered by Indian Air Force's MI-17 helicopter. Let us tell you that as per the protocol and rules, till now only the national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' was sung in the official flag hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort. But now the Modi government has got the Prevention of Insults to National Honor (Amendment) Bill, 2026 passed by both the houses of the Parliament, under which 'Vande Mataram' has also got legal recognition equal to the national anthem. It has come into force after the approval of the President.
