According to the data, Rs 1.74 lakh crore GST collection was done in August 2025. Whereas, in July this year, the government had received Rs 2.11 lakh crore through GST.

According to the latest data, gross GST on imports increased by 29 percent to Rs 62604 crore in August. In August 2025 it was Rs 48546 crore. Domestic gross GST was Rs 1.37 lakh crore in August this year. In August last year it was Rs 1.25 lakh crore. The government got Rs 38413 crore from CGST. Whereas, Rs 46316 crore was received from SGST and Rs 52520 crore was received from IGST. Gross GST collection also increased by 11 percent from April to August this year. Gross GST collection from April to August reached Rs 1042757 crore.

The government has said that GST refund of Rs 31795 crore was also given to businessmen in August. GST refund in August last year was Rs 18935 crore. That means the refund was 69.9 percent more. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and UP remain at the forefront in GST collection. The GST Council meeting is to be held on 12 September. This meeting of GST Council will be held in Delhi. Before this, all the states will also be happy with the encouraging news on GST collection. Let us tell you that states are also given a share in GST. Whereas, state governments also earn by imposing different VAT on petroleum products. GST was implemented from 1 July 2017.
