More than a dozen people were admitted to the hospital there. Earlier, poisonous liquor had wreaked havoc in Patna, Saran and some other districts of Bihar. In Sangrur, Punjab too, people lost their lives due to poisonous liquor. According to the data of National Crime Records Bureau i.e. NCRB, every year hundreds to a thousand people die due to poisonous liquor.

Some chemicals are added while making country liquor in an unsafe manner. Due to which the liquor produced becomes poisonous. Liquor produced in companies contains ethyl alcohol, but poisonous liquor contains methyl alcohol. Which is poison. Apart from death, poisonous liquor also causes loss of eyesight and damage to the internal organs of the body. Many people drink raw liquor due to low price and lose their lives. Despite this, people do not desist from drinking raw liquor. As a result, with his death the family also reaches the brink of ruin.
