I am not backing down from the investigation, the government should get the entire tenure investigated: Harish Rawat!

Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat has announced his upcoming visit to Siddhapeethas. He said that he will go to the major Siddhapeethas of the state and offer prayers there and distribute Prasad.

Meanwhile, Rawat also reiterated the demand for constituting a judicial or inquiry commission to investigate his entire tenure as Chief Minister. He said that instead of taking action or conducting investigation through different investigating agencies at the time of elections, his entire tenure should be investigated together.

Regarding the visit of Siddhapeethas, Harish Rawat said that he is going to pay obeisance to Charu Siddhas who are considered as Digpals of the state. He said that he is living on this earth and has returned healthy, hence he wants to express his gratitude by visiting Siddhapeethas.

He will also distribute Prasad at these religious places. He linked this program to his personal faith and expressing gratitude towards the land of Uttarakhand. He said that Siddhapeethas have special importance in the religious and spiritual traditions of Uttarakhand and he wanted to go there and pay his respects.

Along with this, Harish Rawat once again reiterated his old demand regarding investigation into his tenure as Chief Minister. He said that instead of sending different central investigation agencies or officials against him at the time of elections, an inquiry commission should be formed once to investigate his entire tenure.

If there has been any irregularity during his tenure, if there has been misuse of powers or if he has earned financial benefits, then everything will come to light through the inquiry commission.

He said that an impartial inquiry into his entire tenure would also make it clear how he used his powers while holding the post of Chief Minister. The former CM said that he is not backing down from the investigation. He said that if any wrongdoing has happened during his tenure or he has misused his powers, then it should come forward during the investigation.

Rawat said that all the matters related to his tenure can be investigated before the Inquiry Commission and action can be taken on the basis of whatever facts come to light. A comprehensive investigation can provide a clearer picture than repeatedly conducting separate tests on different occasions.

Harish Rawat further said that if a commission is formed to investigate his entire tenure as Chief Minister, then it can establish a new political and administrative tradition in Uttarakhand.

In future too, arrangements can be made to review or investigate the tenure of Chief Ministers in a similar manner. With this, the Chief Minister will work with more restraint and accountability during his tenure. If such a system is made, then in future people holding the post of Chief Minister will also have to be more careful about their decisions and use of powers.

He appealed to BJP to accept his demand. He said that many suggestions have been given to the BJP government by the Congress, but many of them were not accepted by the government.
