The Pakistani government has suffered the biggest blow at this time due to one thing. That is Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI). PTI has called for protests across the country in Islamabad on September 27. Thousands of people will join this march to release Imran Khan. To crush this march, arrests of PTI leaders and their families have been started. Also, hospitals have been ordered to be on alert as there is a possibility of major violence on Sunday. Police and army are already deployed on every road of Islamabad. Everyone is being thoroughly investigated. This is indicating that something big is going to happen in Pakistan.
M-1 Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway has been closed in both directions from Islamabad Toll Plaza to Chach Interchange. Along with this, many interchanges including Fateh Jang/Taranul, Sangjani, Brahma Bahatar, Burhan, Hazara Motorway, Ghazi and Chach have also been closed. Also, M-14 Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway has been closed on both sides from Hakla to Kundal. GT Road i.e. N-5 has also been closed near Atkhurd. Officials have ordered to keep this road closed until further orders.
Rangers in four districts
In view of the PTI march, the Punjab government has demanded the Center to deploy Rangers in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Mianwali. The Punjab government has demanded deployment of Rangers from September 22 to October 5. The government says that Rangers should be deployed to ensure that law and order does not deteriorate. More than 10,000 police will be deployed in Rawalpindi alone. Apart from deploying police at entry routes, barrier points and important routes, there has been a demand to deploy containers. Amidst all this, PTI's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leaders have alleged that the police is coming to their homes and taking action. The party has claimed that the houses of provincial ministers Syed Fakhar Jahan and Riyaz Khan were raided. The house of National Assembly member Muhammad Zubair Khan Wazir was surrounded for a few hours, after which he was arrested. PTI also claimed that his family members were kept under house arrest and firing was fired around his house.
FIR against chairman
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered an FIR against PTI's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chairman Junaid Akbar under the PECA Act. Akbar is accused of allegedly posting anti-national content on TikTok and YouTube. He is also accused of instigating his workers. Human rights organization Amnesty International has expressed concern over the arrest of PTI leaders and activists, including Imran Khan's sister Alima Khan, Noureen Niazi and Uzma Khan. Alima Khan was placed in administrative custody for 30 days on 20 September. Nooreen Niazi and Uzma Khan have also been detained. Amnesty has said that this action is against freedom of expression.
Will mobile and internet be switched off?
PTI: Preparations are underway to shut down mobile and internet services in some areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Attock during the march. According to local reports, there is a proposal to shut down mobile services in some areas on 26 and 27 September.
Also, a large number of troops will be deployed in the Pakistani capital and surrounding areas before the march on September 27. The government is preparing to crush the PTI march by closing motorways, deploying rangers, placing containers, taking action against leaders and proposing to shut down mobile and internet services.
