Before Diwali, Yogi government has given big relief to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday, the proposal to continue the scheme of giving one free LPG cylinder refill each on Diwali and Holi was approved. Eligible beneficiaries will get two free cylinder refills in the financial year 2026-27. The state government will spend Rs 2142.78 crore on this.
After the cabinet meeting, Food and Logistics Minister Manoj Pandey said that the Council of Ministers has decided to take forward the scheme to provide cooking gas facility to poor families. The first free refill will be given between October to December 2026 on the occasion of Diwali and the second between January to March 2027 on the occasion of Holi.
The benefit of the scheme will be available only to those beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, whose bank accounts are linked to Aadhaar and Aadhaar authentication is completed. The government has set this condition for eligibility. Yogi government has been providing two free cylinder refills to Ujjwala beneficiaries on Diwali and Holi in the last financial years also.
Now this arrangement will continue in the current financial year also. According to the government, this will increase the use of clean fuel among poor families and help protect women and children from the harm caused by smoke from conventional fuels.
Meanwhile, the Yogi Cabinet on Friday passed a proposal to name the airport 'Narendra Modi International Airport Noida Jewar'. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath informed about this decision in a press conference with both the Deputy Chief Ministers and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) colleagues at the media center of Lok Bhavan.
CM Yogi said that more than 65 lakh poor families should get Prime Minister houses. About 15 crore people from 3.67 crore ration card holding families are being given free ration. 2.46 crore rural families got tap connections through Jal Jeevan Mission. 3.37 crore toilets and 59,183 community toilets were built.
1.86 crore free gas connections were given under Ujjwala scheme. The state government is giving free cylinders on Holi and Diwali. The Chief Minister said that more than six crore Ayushman cards were issued in the state. Through these, more than 9.90 crore people got health cover. 1.09 crore serious patients received free treatment worth Rs 18,798 crore. 14.67 crore people were treated in health fairs. AIIMS operates in Gorakhpur and Rae Bareli.
He said that more than 9.50 lakh government jobs and 65 lakh appointments were created in the private sector in the state. 31.11 lakh youth were given training and more than 62 lakh were given smartphones and tablets.
Players have got new opportunities from Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut, Modern Sports Complex in Kashi and National Center of Excellence. The Chief Minister said that more than one crore women are associated with 10 lakh self-help groups.
15 lakh street vendors got assistance from PM Swanidhi and 1.10 crore rural families got houses from Swamitva Yojana. The Backward Classes Commission got constitutional status and ten percent reservation for economically weaker sections also got under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
