A heart-wrenching case has come to light in Delhi’s Zafarpur Kalan village at 2:30 am on Sunday. Pandav Kumar, a 21-year-old food delivery agent, died after being shot, while his friend Krishna was injured. Police say that Delhi Police head constable Neeraj opened fire on them.
According to the police, Pandav Kumar and his friend Krishna were returning from a birthday party at a friend’s house. They were standing on the road and talking. At the same time Neeraj, who lives on the other side of the road, came down and started arguing with them. During the argument, Neeraj allegedly fired at Pandav Kumar from very close range. The bullet hit Kumar directly in the chest, penetrated the chest and hit Krishna sitting behind in the right side of the stomach. Both of them were immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared Pandav Kumar dead. Krishna is undergoing treatment.

The family says that he was subjected to casteist abuses and shot as soon as he found out that he was from Bihar. The family of deceased Pandav Kumar has alleged that Neeraj was drunk and opened fire without any reason. The family says that Neeraj first objected to standing on the road and then asked Kumar about his caste.
Speaking to reporters, Pandav’s mother Meena Devi said, ‘As soon as he came to know that we were from Bihar, he shot us and ran away. My son was innocent. He was working hard to help the family. I want justice for my son. The accused should be given strict punishment.
Pandava was the only earner
A relative told that Pandav was the only earning member of the family. According to police sources, Neeraj is posted in the Special Cell of Delhi Police, although the family claims that he is a head constable. The police have not confirmed this yet.
Neeraj is a resident of Bahu Akbarpur village in Rohtak district of Haryana and was living alone in Delhi for the last 15 years. Police have registered a case against accused Neeraj. He is absconding and the police is trying to catch him. Police are investigating the entire incident to find out how the argument started and what happened.
Local people and family members reached Jafarpur Kalan police station and demanded immediate arrest of the accused and strict action.
