IND vs SL Warm-Up Match: India and Sri Lanka will play a two-Test series starting August 15th. Prior to this series, a three-day warm-up match is being played at the Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC) Ground in Colombo. Two days of play have now concluded. Devdutt Padikkal scored a brilliant century
In this warm-up match against Sri Lanka, Devdutt Padikkal was sent in to bat at number 3 in India’s first innings. Padikkal looked in excellent form and scored a century. He also played well against the Sri Lankan spinners. He had previously retired out after scoring a century, but after a quick fall of wickets, Padikkal returned to bat. By the end of the day’s play, Padikkal remained unbeaten on 142 runs. Β

Ravindra Jadeja played an innings of 63 runs and also took 2 wickets.
India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja performed brilliantly with both bat and ball in this match. He first took two wickets while bowling. He then played a brilliant innings with the bat. Coming in to bat at number four, Jadeja shared 72 runs with Devdutt Padikkal and 76 runs with Manav Suthar. Jadeja retired out after scoring 63 runs off 117 balls.Β

KL Rahul scored 40 runs
KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings for India. Jaiswal was dismissed without scoring, but KL Rahul held his own at the other end. He and Padikkal shared a 96-run partnership. Rahul came into form well but was then dismissed. He scored 40 runs off 67 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six.Β

Gurnur Brar hit 4 sixes in a single over.
In this match, Indian fast bowler Gurnur Brar came in to bat at number 11. Padikkal also returned to the field. The two shared an unbeaten 51-run partnership off 30 balls. Dilum Sadira was bowling the last over of the day. Gurnur Brar hit four sixes in this over. Brar remained unbeaten on 36 runs off 18 balls, hitting two fours and four sixes.Β
Manav Suthar was seen in good form
India’s left-arm spin all-rounder Manav Suthar also looked in good form. He shared a 76-run partnership with Jadeja, but was forced to retire hurt early. Suthar scored 22 runs off 45 balls, hitting three fours. If he gets a chance in this series, he could prove to be a trump card for Team India.Β
