5 Upcoming Mahindra Electric SUVs: BE07 To Vision S

Mahindra is one of the largest SUV manufacturers in India. Along with diesel and petrol engines, Mahindra is also working on EVs, and they already have a bunch of EVs in their lineup. They are taking EVs seriously and even have a dedicated team for the same. In the coming years, Mahindra plans to expand its existing EV lineup with new and updated products. Here, we have a list of five such upcoming electric SUVs from Mahindra.

Mahindra has the BE6 as its entry-level born-electric EV in the market. It is currently available with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery pack options. However, last year, at the time of the XEV 9S launch, Mahindra announced that a new 70 kWh battery pack would be introduced. It was also said that the same 70 kWh battery pack will make its way to the BE6 as well.

The 70 kWh battery pack will offer a claimed range of 600 km and will generate 242 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. In terms of range, power, and price, the BE6 70 kWh variant will sit between the 59 kWh and 79 kWh variants.

Following the BE6, Mahindra will also introduce the 70 kWh battery pack in the XEV 9E. Just like the BE6, the XEV 9E’s 70 kWh battery pack will deliver a 600 km range and generate 242 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. It would be a variant that offers a good balance between features, range, and power.

One of the five concepts that Mahindra had showcased a few years ago was the BE 07. Now that they have the BE6, XEV 9E, and XEV 9S in the market, it is natural for Mahindra to focus on the fourth product. They have started testing this upcoming BE 07 EV, and it has been spotted with heavy camouflage. The production version is expected to stay close to the concept design.

The BE 07 appears to be a mid-size electric SUV that will rival models like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki eVitara, and Toyota’s upcoming EVs. Compared to rivals like the Creta Electric, the BE 07 is expected to be larger in dimensions, offering better space and a longer wheelbase.

In terms of battery packs, Mahindra is expected to offer the same 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh battery packs with the SUV. The production name of the BE 07 might be different.

vision s

Mahindra showcased its new Vision S concept last year, and testing for the production version has also started. The SUV has been spotted with heavy camouflage multiple times. The Vision S concept, along with many other upcoming SUVs, is based on Mahindra’s new NU-IQ platform. It is a flexible, modular vehicle platform designed to support multiple powertrains, including internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrids, and electric vehicles (EVs).

After the ICE version of the Vision S is launched, Mahindra will also work on an EV version of this SUV. It may replace the current XUV 3XO EV when launched.

mahindra thar electric

Mahindra showcased the Thar.e concept back in 2023, and it was expected to hit production by 2026. However, it doesn’t look like that is happening. The Mahindra Thar.e is a 5-door electric off-roader. It will be based on the INGLO P1 platform, which is specially designed for electric off-roaders.

We also saw the Vision T last year, and there is a possibility that Mahindra might use the new platform to build a capable electric off-roader. The exact details about the powertrain and battery packs are yet to be revealed, and the launch is expected to happen in the coming years.
