8th class student commits suicide due to fine of Rs 20 and threat of expulsion from school

Bengaluru. The sad news of suicide of a class 8 student has come to light from Marasuru Madiwala village on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
Police have found a suicide note from the student, in which there are serious allegations of mental torture and harassment against the school teacher.

Is the matter related to the fine of Rs 20?

According to the suicide note, the teacher had imposed a fine of Rs 20 for not completing the homework and had also threatened to remove him from the school, due to which he took this step after getting upset. The student further alleged that she was threatened with giving the transfer certificate. The student was also falsely accused of stealing ₹10 and ₹20 in school, after which she was severely reprimanded by the teachers. Apart from this, it has been claimed in the suicide note that due to this, she had come under deep mental stress due to humiliation, embarrassment and constant threats and was unable to bear it. Because of this he committed suicide.

The deceased student has been identified as Madhushree who was studying in class 8 at Marasuru Government Higher Primary School. Regarding this matter, the family members of the student have accused the teachers of torture and harassment. At present, a case of unnatural death has been registered in the local police station. The police is investigating the authenticity of the suicide note and is taking further action by interrogating the school staff.
