Big action by Lucknow ATS: Two suspected terrorists with ISI links arrested, there was a conspiracy to attack in India

A big security related news has come out from Lucknow, where terrorist network and gangster connections related to Pakistan have been exposed. Uttar Pradesh ATS has arrested two such suspects, who were preparing to carry out a major terrorist conspiracy in India. Initial investigation has revealed that both these accused were in contact with handlers and gangsters sitting in Pakistan through social media.

During the arrest, weapons and suspicious items were recovered from the accused, which has increased the concern of the security agencies. Investigative agencies say that this is not just a small link, but could be part of a larger network, which is targeting the youth of India.

Who are the arrested accused and how did they get connected?

ATS has arrested Tushar Chauhan alias Hezbollah Ali Khan and Sameer Khan from Noida. Tushar is a resident of Meerut, while Sameer is said to be a resident of New Delhi. Investigation revealed that Tushar had come in contact with Sameer through Instagram and from there their network was formed.

Both the accused were connected to Pakistani gangsters Shehzad Bhatti and Abid Jatt through social media platforms. This connection was not limited to simple chatting, but continuous contact was maintained through means such as encrypted channels, voice calls, video calls and “push to talk”.

What was recovered from the accused?

During the arrest, ATS recovered a 32 bore pistol, five live cartridges, a knife and two mobile phones from the accused. It is expected that many important digital evidences will be found in these mobile phones, which can reveal the depth of this network.

What was the whole terrorist plan?

According to the investigating agencies, both the accused were preparing to carry out terrorist activities in India. They were instructed to conduct recce of the houses of the targeted people and attack on the spot.

Shehzad Bhatti had instructed Tushar to throw grenades at the houses of some specific people and commit murder. In return, he was lured to pay Rs 50 thousand in advance and Rs 2.5 lakh after completion of the work. Besides, a promise was also made to provide state-of-the-art weapons.

What is the role of ISI and Pakistani handlers?

The role of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI has also come to light in the entire matter. Investigation has revealed that ISI agents Major Hameed, Major Iqbal and Major Anwar were the ones to target these accused.

Not only this, money and weapons were also delivered to the accused by these handlers. Both the accused were in direct contact with Pakistani handlers through conference calls, which clearly shows that this conspiracy was being hatched in a very organized manner.

How did social media become a medium for terrorist networks?

The role of social media was very important in this entire matter. Tushar gradually inclined towards Islam and started getting involved in religious activities. During this time, he came in contact with Pakistani gangsters through Instagram.

To impress Shehzad Bhatti, Tushar also created an Instagram account in his name, which was later blocked by Instagram. In this process, he got Bhatti’s mobile number and then direct contact was established.

What responsibility was given to Sameer?

Sameer Khan was assigned the task of writing slogans on the walls and recruiting new people in the name of “Tehreek-e-Taliban Hindustan”. This is a clear indication that the purpose of the network was not only to attack, but also to spread ideology and connect new youth.

Along with luring the accused with money, they were also given the promise of sending them abroad. A plan was told to get him a passport and call him to Pakistan via Dubai.
