According to the schedule of legislative business of the one-day special session released by the Assembly Secretariat, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary will move the motion, stating that “the House expresses its confidence in the present Council of Ministers in the state”. Earlier this month, Samrat Chaudhary became the first BJP leader to lead the government in the state after the resignation of JDU president Nitish Kumar. Nitish Kumar had left the post of Chief Minister after being elected to Rajya Sabha.
Let us tell you that due to Bankipur seat being vacant in Bihar Assembly of 243 members, the effective number is 242. This seat became vacant after Nitin Naveen became Rajya Sabha MP. In such a situation, CM Samrat Choudhary’s government needs the magic figure of 122 to get the trust vote, whereas he has the strong support of 201 MLAs. That means they should not have any problem in passing the floor test.
