West Bengal: Bag full of bomb found near polling booth in Purba Bardhaman district

During the second phase of assembly elections in West Bengal, there was a stir on Wednesday (April 29) when a bag filled with bombs was found near a polling booth in Ketugram in Purba Bardhaman district. The explosives were recovered near Biruri Primary School, where a large number of people were arriving to vote.

According to preliminary information, about six live bombs were found in the bag. As soon as the matter came to light, the central security forces deployed at the polling station took immediate action and secured the area. After this, the bomb disposal team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) reached the spot and started the process of safely neutralizing the explosives.

The incident of bomb being found during active voting has raised serious questions on the election security system. The discovery of such explosives near the polling booth explained why heavy security arrangements were deployed in sensitive areas.

However, despite the atmosphere of fear, the voters of West Bengal did not back down. People kept coming out to vote without any fear. Officials said the situation remained under control after the explosives were seized and the voting process continued without any major disruption.
