The Foundation Of Persecute Hindus Was Laid In Bengal In May 1962

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey has made serious allegations against the Congress party regarding the pathetic condition of Hindus in West Bengal. Holding Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru responsible, he said that in today’s West Bengal, the foundation of ‘harassing Hindus’ and appeasing Muslims was laid on May 3, 1962.

MP Nishikant Dubey has claimed that between 3 May 1962 and 30 May 1962, Hindu-Muslim riots took place in several districts of West Bengal (Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia and Cooch Behar), in which a large number of people died and many were forced to become refugees. He wrote on the social media platform

He also said that at that time Hindus were also persecuted in East Pakistan (present-day Bangladesh), due to which many people were forced to come to India and seek refuge. Nishikant Dubey wrote, “The condition of the Hindus of East Pakistan (Bangladesh) was also becoming like that of Bengal. Either the Hindus were killed or they fled and became refugees, who are mostly from the Matua, i.e. Scheduled Caste community, to whom the Modi government gave citizenship.”

Nishikant Dubey alleged that the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had adopted a stance in favor of Muslims inside and outside the Parliament. He also cited letters written to former President C. Rajagopalachari.

While sharing the letters written by Jawahar Lal Nehru to C. Rajagopalachari on ‘X’, the BJP MP wrote, “Nehru ji kept taking the side of Muslims in the Parliament and outside the Parliament. The letters written to Rajagopalachari ji reveal the vote bank politics of the Congress. In today’s West Bengal, the foundation of harassing Hindus and appeasing Muslims was laid on May 3, 1962 itself.”
