PSL 2026: Peshawar Zalmi became champion under the captaincy of Babar Azam, won so many crores after ending the wait of 9 years
PSL 2026 Champion, Peshawar Zalmi: Peshawar Zalmi has won the title of the 11th season of Pakistan Super League. Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, Peshawar Zalmi has become PSL champion. It captured the title by defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by 5 wickets in the final match played on 3 May. With this he also ended his 9-year wait in PSL. This is the second time that Peshawar Zalmi has become the champion of PSL. He had captured the title for the first time 9 years ago i.e. in the year 2017 under the captaincy of Darren Sammy. This is Babar Azam’s first PSL title as captain.
Hyderabad Kingsmen’s batting disintegrated in the final
The final match between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen was played in Lahore. In this match Hyderabad Kingsmen batted first. But, this team failed to deliver the batting performance it should have in the final against Peshawar Zalmi. The batting condition of Hyderabad Kingsmen was so bad that they could not even play the full 20 overs. The entire team of Hyderabad Kingsmen, playing under the captaincy of Marnus Labuschagne, was all out after scoring 129 runs in just 18 overs. Sam Ayub scored the highest score of 54 runs in the final for Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Peshawar Zalmi becomes champion after Babar Azam fails
Peshawar Zalmi got an easy target of 130 runs to win the title, which they chased by losing 5 wickets in 15.2 overs. Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam, who scored the highest 588 runs in this entire season, did not open his account in the final. Babar Azam was out on the very first ball. But, thanks to Australian all-rounder Aaron Hardy’s unbeaten inning of 56 runs, Peshawar Zalmi achieved the target easily.

Before batting, Aaron Hardy had the biggest role in creating problems for Hyderabad Kingsmen with the ball. He gave away 4 out of 10 batsmen alone while giving 27 runs in 4 overs. Aaron Hardy was adjudged Player of the Match in the PSL 2026 final for his all-round game.

Peshawar Zalmi did not even get Rs 5 crore after becoming champion
