According to health experts, cold drinks and packaged thandai available in the market contain high amount of sugar. This can cause problems like weight gain, stomach upset and fatigue. At the same time, homemade thandai is made from completely natural materials, which do not contain any chemicals or artificial colors. Thandai is made from almonds, saffron, fennel, poppy seeds, rose petals and various spices. This drink instantly cools the body in summers, improves digestion, increases immunity, calms the mind and makes the skin glowing.
Consuming Thandai provides many benefits. It gives energy to the body along with natural coolness. Strengthens the digestive system. Removes fatigue and keeps good mood.
The method of making thandai is also easy. To make Thandai, take fennel, poppy seeds, black pepper, cardamom, watermelon-pumpkin cores, almonds, cashew nuts, pistachios, saffron and rose petals. Clean all these ingredients and soak them in water for 2-3 hours or overnight. Grind the soaked ingredients finely in a mixer. Take cold milk in a jug and mix the paste well in it. Add sugar or jaggery as per taste. Finally, serve by sprinkling saffron, rose petals, ice cubes and chopped almonds and pistachios on top.
