Big revelation after Operation Sindoor, big action on ISI related networks, 457 spies arrested in 17 states
Knews Desk– After ‘Operation Sindoor’ in May 2025, the country’s security agencies have taken major action on the networks linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. According to the latest report, 457 spies and suspects associated with them have been arrested in 17 states and union territories of India. This has been revealed in an intelligence report of Punjab Police, in which a detailed description of the growing activities of ISI and its new operation pattern has been given.
According to Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav, the state police shared many important intelligence inputs with the help of central agencies and other states, on the basis of which this major action was possible. He said that in the year 2025, 457 suspects were identified, who were in direct contact with Pakistani Intelligence Officers (PIOs). Apart from this, by March 2026, 17 more people were identified who were found to be continuously connected to the ISI network.
The report also said that after ‘Operation Sindoor’, ISI had made its espionage network more active in India. The agency deployed new agents to gather information about local people, sensitive areas and activities of security forces. For this, methods like social media, honey-trapping and greed for money were used.
Plan to install cameras revealed in March and April 2026
The investigation revealed that money for espionage was being transferred through hawala network and encrypted messaging apps. In many cases it was also found that agents were assigned the task of monitoring military bases, border areas and police and army activities. The most serious revelation was that some suspects had tried to install solar-powered CCTV cameras around security establishments. These cameras were to be monitored remotely by inserting SIM cards and the footage was to be sent directly across the border. However, the Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police exposed the conspiracy in time and arrested many accused.
According to officials, the plan to install the cameras came to light during March and April 2026, when some agents were proactively instructed to install such devices. After this, security agencies took immediate action and conducted search operations across the state and foiled several espionage attempts.
After this incident, advisory has been issued to all the states and security agencies, so that immediate action can be taken on any kind of suspicious activity. Experts believe that this is a serious challenge to India’s internal security, which can be controlled only through constant monitoring and coordinated action.
