New Delhi, 9 May. A surprising news has come out from the national capital Delhi. High alert has been declared here regarding possible terrorist threat. After receiving intelligence inputs, Delhi Police and other security agencies have increased security at many sensitive places in the city, including the BJP headquarters at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg. Additional armed police force has been deployed here, barricading has been increased and vehicles are being checked intensively.
Alert issued after investigation agencies receive input
According to the information received, agencies have received input that there may be an attempt to target major offices and crowded areas of Central Delhi. Possible attacks include suicide bombings, vehicle-based IEDs, firing and coordinated attacks. Sources said that anti-sabotage checks have been started at important government buildings, political offices, markets, transport hubs and other crowded places. Security agencies are maintaining constant vigil across the city.
Instructions to these people to be on alert
On the other hand, security agencies have instructed bomb disposal squad, sniffer dog units and quick reaction teams to remain on alert. Along with this, Delhi Fire Service has also been instructed to remain alert. This has been done so that any emergency can be dealt with immediately. Police have been instructed to keep a close watch on suspicious activities, abandoned objects and parked vehicles in sensitive areas.

Not only this, security has also been increased in the areas and settlements of the capital considered sensitive from law and order point of view. Random checking drives and verification drives are being conducted by Delhi Police. All district units have been instructed to remain alert by coordinating with intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces. Senior officials are continuously monitoring the situation and security arrangements are being reviewed across the city.
Police had busted the module of terrorist Shahzad Bhatti
It is noteworthy that recently, the Special Cell of Delhi Police, on the instructions of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, busted the module of Pakistani gangster/terrorist Shehzad Bhatti, who was plotting terrorist activities in India and arrested nine accused.
During interrogation, it was revealed that this module was preparing to carry out major incidents of target killing in Delhi. The accused had conducted recce of many important places in the capital and a famous temple and sent its videos to their handlers. There is also input that security forces deployed at important places could also be targeted.
