Beijing, May 14. US President Donald Trump reached China’s capital on Wednesday on an important two-day diplomatic visit. His official events began on Thursday, with Chinese President Xi Jinping giving Trump a warm welcome at Beijing’s historic Great Hall of the People. The two leaders shook hands on the red carpet. A Chinese military contingent provided a guard of honor outside the building, west of Tiananmen Square, while US and Chinese flags were raised.

Vice President welcomed on the runway, received special honor
Earlier, when President Trump’s plane ‘Air Force One’ reached Beijing on Wednesday evening, China’s Vice President Han Zheng himself was present on the runway to welcome him. Han Zheng’s coming to welcome is being seen as a big diplomatic honor from Beijing to Trump. Trump was welcomed at the airport with brass band tunes, ‘Welcome Welcome’ slogans and a red carpet, where a girl even presented him a bouquet of flowers. President Trump spent Wednesday night at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beijing.
