Raghav Chadha: Chairman Radhakrishnan handed over a big responsibility to Raghav Chadha, became the chairman of the petition committee in Rajya Sabha.

New Delhi. Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha, who recently left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been appointed the new chairman of the petition committee of this house. Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan, after reconstituting the petition committee, nominated 10 members of the House to this committee.

“Raghav Chadha has been appointed Chairman of the Committee,” a Rajya Sabha notification said. The notification said the Rajya Sabha Chairman has reconstituted the committee with effect from May 20. Apart from Chadha, the committee includes Harsh Mahajan, Ghulam Ali, Shambhu Sharan Patel, Mayankkumar Nayak, Mastan Rao Yadav Bida, JB Mather Hisham, Subhashish Khuntia, Ravangavara Narjari and Sandosh Kumar P. as other members.

In another notification, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat said, “The Chairman of the Rajya Sabha has nominated Dr. Maneka Guruswamy, Member of the Rajya Sabha, as a member of the Joint Committee on the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 on May 20, 2026.” In a separate notification of the Lok Sabha, the Speaker has nominated Arvind Ganpat Sawant to the Joint Committee on the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill and the decision is effective from May 21.
