Storm and rain provided relief from heat in Madhya Pradesh; Alert of heavy rain with high speed winds in many districts – ..

There is relief news for the people of Madhya Pradesh who have been suffering from scorching heat, humidity and heat wave for the last several days. In many parts of the state, the weather has suddenly changed in such a way that instead of scorching sunlight, dark clouds have taken up residence in the sky. In many districts of the state, heavy dust storms along with drizzle and at some places heavy rains have started, due to which the temperature has dropped significantly and the weather has become completely cool.

While the general public has heaved a sigh of relief due to this sudden change in the weather, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new alert of ‘stormy’ rain and hailstorm in many parts of the state for the first 3 to 4 days of the first week of June.

Why did the weather change suddenly?

According to meteorologists, due to the activity of a Cyclonic Circulation in and around Pakistan and a new Western Disturbance, the atmosphere of Madhya Pradesh has become moist. Due to this change, the direction of the winds changed and the heat waves turned into cold winds.

Earlier, in the last days of May, the mercury had crossed 45 to 46 degrees Celsius in many areas including Khajuraho, Bhopal and Indore, due to which life was disrupted. But now this storm and rain has completely put brakes on the rising mercury.

How will be the condition of your city in the next 4 days?

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued different types of warnings for both parts of Madhya Pradesh (eastern and western) between June 1 and June 4. Wind speed during this period 50 to 60 kilometers per hour Can reach up to 70 km per hour.

The possible weather conditions in different areas can be easily understood from the table given below:

RegionProbable Weather ConditionAlert Type
Western Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior divisions)There is a possibility of heavy rain with strong thunderstorm and hail in some areas.Yellow/Orange Alert (Special caution from 1st to 4th June)
East Madhya Pradesh (Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar Division)Light to moderate rain and strong winds are expected along with thunderstorms.General Alert (Chance of storm in initial 1-2 days)

⚠️ Special instructions for farmers and general public

In view of this change in the weather, the Meteorological Center has issued an important advisory for rural areas and farmers. Scientists say that whenever there is lightning in the sky or a storm occurs, do not take shelter in open fields or under trees. Laborers working in the fields should immediately move to a permanent house or safe place. Along with this, farmers whose harvested crops or grains are kept in the open should cover them with tarpaulin or send them to safe warehouses so that they do not get damaged due to sudden heavy rains.

How long will this relief from heat last?

According to the Meteorological Department, this period of storm and rain may continue intermittently for the next 3 to 4 days in Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, the temperature of both day and night will remain reduced by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, due to which people will get relief from humidity and heat.

However, scientists also say that after June 5, this weather system will gradually weaken, after which the sky will be clear once again and a rise in temperature can be seen again in the second week of June. So for now, enjoy this pleasant and cool weather and stay in safe places during storms.
