Yamuna Expressway becomes ‘No Protest Zone’, now there will be no protests, know what is the whole matter

Yamuna Expressway passing through Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh has now been officially declared a ‘No Protest Zone’. After this decision, any kind of political, non-political or social protest will be banned in the designated area of the expressway. The administration says that this step has been taken with the aim of ensuring the safety of passengers and keeping the traffic hassle-free.

The order will be implemented in 41 kilometer area

According to police officials, this restriction will be applicable on about 41 km long stretch of Yamuna Expressway falling within the limits of Gautam Buddha Nagar. The order issued in this regard has been implemented in compliance with the instructions of Allahabad High Court. The administration believes that any kind of agitation or demonstration on an important transport project like an expressway can affect the traffic system and increase the risk of accidents.

Decision taken after recent movements

In the last few months, many demonstrations and sit-ins were seen in Noida and Greater Noida area. Workers in industrial areas had agitated for wage hike and other demands, while farmers had protested over issues related to land acquisition, compensation and development projects.

During these demonstrations, traffic was affected on many major routes, due to which common people and commercial vehicles had to face problems. The administration believes that to avoid such situations, it is necessary to keep the expressway area protest-free.

Information boards will be installed at various places

To convey the decision to the people, information boards are being installed at various prominent places on the Yamuna Expressway. Apart from this, copies of the order will also be displayed in the Police Commissioner’s office and related police stations. The administration is also informing people about the new rules through media and other mass communication mediums.

Monitoring and strictness will increase

Police have clarified that there will be constant monitoring on the expressway to ensure compliance with the order. Special arrangements have been made for traffic management and maintaining law and order. Officials say that the expressway is an important route for national and interstate traffic, so any kind of obstruction will not be accepted here.
