This is the most valuable team at World Cup 2026, and it’s not the defending champions
The 26 players selected for France’s squad have a combined market value of US$1.76 billion, according to Transfermarkt, a leading football statistics and player valuation platform.
The most valuable player on the team is captain Kylian Mbappe at $230 million. Despite not winning a trophy during his first two seasons with Real Madrid, the French forward delivered impressive performances. He scored 86 goals in 103 appearances, won the La Liga Golden Boot for two consecutive seasons and was the UEFA Champions League’s top scorer last season.
