4000 EVMs burnt to ashes in Bengal, were used in this election
A big incident is coming out from West Bengal. Only a month after the election results, about 4000 electronic voting machines (EVMs) have been burnt to ashes. These machines were used in 10 constituencies in the recent West Bengal Assembly elections. The police have registered an FIR and started investigating the case. Now it is being investigated whether the fire broke out due to electricity or some other reason.
According to media reports, a massive fire broke out in a nine-storey building in Alipore area of South Kolkata on Wednesday. EVMs were kept in this building. Now the police have increased surveillance around the building. The building there has been sealed. It is being told that the office of South 24 Parganas District Council is also located in the same building.

How did the fire reach the seventh floor directly from the third?
West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services Minister Kaushik Choudhary said that around 4000 EVMs were destroyed in the fire. These were recently used in 10 assembly constituencies. The minister visited the spot and said that it did not appear to be a normal fire. It will be investigated whether any action was taken here.
He said the fire broke out in the second and third floors of the building. How did the fire reach the seventh and eighth floors without causing damage to the fourth, fifth and sixth floors? Now the forensic team will investigate the matter, so that the real reason can be found out.

BJP leader said- planned incident
Union Minister Sukant Majumdar has also expressed apprehension of some disturbance. BJP leader Rakesh Singh also called the incident well-planned. On the other hand, even after 24 hours, firefighters were busy extinguishing the fire in the building. However, now the fire has been controlled to a great extent. Apart from the Zilla Parishad office, there were also offices of other departments in the building. The damage is being assessed.
