Big announcement by Dubai RTA, parking will be free on Hijri New Year, change in timings of metro and buses.
There is an important news for the people and tourists living in Dubai. RTA has announced the timing of its services during the Hijri New Year 1448 holiday. Monday, June 15, 2026, will be a government holiday, due to which some changes have been made in the rules of transport and parking.
New rules of parking and metro
RTA has said that on Monday, June 15, 2026, public parking in Dubai will be completely free. However, for multi-storey parking, fees will have to be paid as before. Parking charges will be re-introduced from Tuesday, June 16. At the same time, the Red and Green lines of Dubai Metro will run from 5 am to 12 midnight. Dubai Tram will be available starting from 6am till 1am the next day.
Changes in bus and transport services
Passengers have been advised to check the S’hail app for information about timings of public buses. One major change is that bus route E100, which runs from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Abu Dhabi, will be closed from June 13 to June 15. During this time, people traveling to Abu Dhabi can use route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station. Marine transport services will remain operational, but their updated timings will have to be checked on the official channels of RTA.
Customer Center and Vehicle Testing
All RTA Customer Happiness Centers will remain closed on holiday i.e. 15th June. But the center at Um Ramool and smart kiosks in Deira, Al Barsha, Al Tawar, Al Kifaf and RTA headquarters will remain open 24 hours. Similarly, all vehicle testing centers will also remain closed on Monday and will reopen from Tuesday, June 16.
The UAE’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization have also declared June 15 as an official holiday for both the public and private sectors.
