33rd day of Shri Ram Katha in Parmarth Niketan, message of values and nature conservation
Rishikesh. The 34-day Shri Ram Katha organized on the holy banks of Ganga at Parmarth Niketan entered its 33rd day today. This divine story, filled with messages of devotion, knowledge, values and nation building, is lighting the lamp of awareness towards religion, culture and nature in the hearts of many devotees. The story is now moving towards its end, but the resolutions and inspirations awakened by it will continue to illuminate the lives of future generations.
After the completion of Adhik Maas, Swami Chidanand Saraswati said that a new auspicious and auspicious time has started from today. Now the best time for all auspicious works has started. This is not only a change of dates but also an opportunity for positive changes in life. He called upon all the devotees to take such resolutions for the coming years which will be beneficial for themselves as well as society, culture and nation.
Referring to an inspiring incident from Ramayana, Swami said that a great warrior like King Bali, who with his strength held a powerful king like Ravana under his arm for six months, also dedicated his son Angad at the feet of Lord Shri Ram in the last moments of his life. This incident gives us the message that the greatest power in the world lies at the feet of the Lord.
He said that if we want to preserve our Sanatan culture, our values and our glorious traditions, then we have to connect our children with God. Our children will have to be given not only modern education but also spiritual education, moral values and knowledge of Indian culture. When the new generation will adopt the steps, refuge and conduct of the Lord, then only the preservation of culture and civilization will be possible. Swami said that the essence of Shri Ram Katha is that we should adopt the ideals of the Lord in our lives. The life of Lord Shri Ram is a unique example of truth, service, sacrifice, dignity and compassion. If family and society imbibe these values then many social problems can automatically end.
He called upon all the families to sit together and pray for some time every day. Family prayer is not just a religious ritual but is the basis of emotional unity, love, faith and values. When family members remember God together, the relationship between them becomes stronger and positive energy circulates in the house.
Swami said that a house is not made of bricks and stones only, but of culture and values. Despite being a grand building, if it lacks love, respect, compassion, discipline and spirituality then it is just a house, not a home. A house becomes a home when there is respect for elders, values for children, affection of parents and remembrance of God.
He said that if there is lack of values in families then the foundation of the society will become weak. Therefore, the need today is to make our children not only successful but also cultured. Only cultured youth can become the creators of the bright future of the nation.
During Shri Ram Katha, a pledge was taken to plant and conserve lakhs of plants. Swamy said that trees not only protect the environment but also protect life. A tree provides pure air, shade, fruits and life to many generations. Therefore, every person must plant and nurture at least one plant in his life.
Katha Vyas Saint Muralidhar said that the Katha is moving towards its final stage, and the resolutions taken through it, preservation of Sanatan culture, promotion of values in families, connection with God and environmental protection, are the basis of new consciousness of positive change in the society.
