TG20 League Row: Why Telangana Cricket Association Sent Notices to Tilak Varma and Siraj

Indian cricketers Tilak Varma and Mohammed Siraj have found themselves in the middle of a fresh controversy after receiving legal notices from the Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) over their alleged association with the TG20 League. The notices were also reportedly sent to several other prominent personalities, including actors and former cricketers.

According to reports, the TCA has objected to the involvement of certain players and celebrities with the TG20 League, claiming that the tournament is not authorized by the association. The legal notices seek clarification regarding their association with the competition and related promotional activities.

The controversy gained attention because both Tilak Varma and Mohammed Siraj were among the marquee players selected during the inaugural TG20 player auction. Tilak Varma attracted one of the highest bids in the tournament, while Siraj was also picked by a franchise for the upcoming season.

However, there is currently no indication that the BCCI has taken any disciplinary action against either player. Reports surrounding the notices are linked to the dispute over the league’s authorization rather than any official punishment from Indian cricket’s governing body.

The TG20 League is scheduled to feature multiple franchises and was planned to begin in Hyderabad, generating significant interest due to the participation of well-known cricketers and celebrities. The legal dispute has now cast uncertainty over the tournament’s future and the involvement of some of its biggest names.

As of now, neither Tilak Varma nor Mohammed Siraj has publicly commented in detail on the legal notices, and further developments are expected as the matter progresses.
