The old Sikh couple was shot dead inside the Gurdwara! Harahim case in Pakistan

A group of miscreants were accused of shooting dead an elderly Sikh couple inside the Gurdwara. This sensational incident took place in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday. The deceased are 70-year-old Jagannath and his wife Asma Wanti. It is known that they were the caretakers of that Gurdwara. The attackers are on the run since the incident.

According to a Pakistani media report, the Gurdwara is located in Babu Mohalla Khaja Ganj Bazar under Hoti police station. The elderly couple went there on Wednesday morning. Allegedly, at that time a group of unidentified youths entered the Gurdwara. Then they started shooting at the elderly couple. Panic rushed inside the Gurdwara. The couple fell there in a bloody state due to the bullet injury. After that the attackers fled from there.

But it is still unclear what led to the ‘murder’ of the elderly couple. Police have already started investigating the incident. The BJP strongly condemned the attack. According to them, the killings raised concerns about the security of religious minorities in Pakistan. On the other hand, Jathedar (head priest) of Akal Takht Gnani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj condemned the incident. He requested Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Khan Afridi to look into the matter seriously. At the same time, he demanded quick arrest and strict punishment of the culprits.
