Trump G2 Formula: Is the new friendship between America and China a big threat to India and the Quad?
Donald Trump G2 Formula: Nowadays, US President Donald Trump is continuously mentioning the new partnership between America and China in public forums. This new diplomatic thinking of Trump is mainly being called G2 Formula, which means that the two largest countries of the world should work together.
This is a big change in America’s decades-old policy because till now America has considered China as its biggest strategic enemy. This new thinking of Trump has become a matter of concern for India because it will have a direct impact on the regional balance and security of Asia.
Till some time ago, India was considered the most important strategic partner of America and Quad was called the main security shield. But now with this new step of Trump, a big and new challenge has arisen in front of India’s multi-polar Asia policy.
If America and China start taking decisions with mutual consent, then the importance of an important security forum like Quad will reduce to a great extent. This situation will be diplomatically challenging for India as it never wants dominance by any one power in the region.
Indo-Pacific to ‘Indo’ remove words
America has changed the name of its largest military command, US Indo-Pacific Command, to US Pacific Command. In the year 2018, it was Trump who named it Indo-Pacific to show the importance of India.
Now this big symbolic decision of removing the word Indo has raised many serious questions. Experts believe that this could be a clear indication of reducing India’s strategic role.
Wrong map increased huge controversy
A recent map released by the Pentagon has increased the tension between India and America even more. In this map, Pakistan occupied Kashmir i.e. POK has been wrongly shown as a part of Pakistan.
Indian diplomats have expressed strong objection to this huge mistake of America and called it a violation of sovereignty. Both these incidents have created a new and serious geopolitical dispute in diplomatic circles.

India’s new multi-level diplomacy
Amidst all these changes, India has also started making major changes in its foreign policy and diplomacy. India is now strengthening its relations with Europe and other countries instead of relying only on America.
Recently the Prime Minister has visited many European countries and has laid special emphasis on free trade agreements. India is now completely focused on making its navy and defense production self-reliant.
