PM Modi released the 23rd installment of PM-KISAN, farmers of West Bengal got Rs 907 crore
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday released the 23rd installment of PM-KISAN scheme from Hooghly district of West Bengal. This time Rs 907.21 crore was transferred to the accounts of more than 45.35 lakh farmers of the state. The program was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal.
West Bengal has benefited more than Rs 15 thousand crore so far
With the 23rd installment, the total payment since the launch of the scheme in West Bengal has crossed Rs 15,055 crore. Under this installment, Rs 18,880 crore has been sent directly to the bank accounts of more than 9.44 crore farmers across the country.
On the same occasion, PM Modi also launched the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme in West Bengal. Its objective is to provide the benefits of the world’s largest crop insurance scheme to the farmers of the state.
During 2026-27, 1.10 crore farmers will get coverage on about 30 lakh hectares of land under this scheme. This will protect crops with an estimated insured value of Rs 28,140 crore. To reduce the premium burden on farmers, the central and state governments will together provide a subsidy of about Rs 777 crore.
New energy is visible in Bengal: PM Modi
Addressing the program, PM Modi said that there is new freshness in the air of West Bengal. He said that a new fragrance is coming from every particle here and it seems as if Bengal has become free from its shackles.
PM Modi said that today’s program is proof that Bengal is now busy in building its new future. He assured the farmers of the state that the Central Government stands with them at every step.

Step 1: Visit the official website of PM-KISAN pmkisan.gov.in.
Step 2: Go to Farmer’s Corner on the homepage and click on Know Your Status.
Step 3: Enter your registration number and security code.
Step 4: OTP will come on your registered mobile, enter it on the portal.
Step 5: After entering the OTP, the payment status will appear in front of you.
Under the scheme, till now crores of small and marginal farmers across the country have received direct financial assistance. With the release of the 23rd installment, farmers of West Bengal are expected to get major relief in farming expenses.
