Police have detained two persons for questioning and further probe is underway.
Balugaon: The body of a minor boy was recovered from a pond in Khordha district of Odisha on Saturday. The incident took place near Maligobindapur village under Banapur police limits, a day after he went missing while going to bathe with friends.
The deceased has been identified as Chandan Pradhan, a Class 9 student from Saluni village in Banapur.
As per reports, Chandan lived with his mother in a rented house at Antarakhiari Chhak. When he did not return home on yesterday evening, his family filed a missing complaint at Banapur Police Station.
Following the complaint, police initiated search operation and later recovered Chandan’s body from Gurei Bandha, a pond near Maligobindapur.
The family has alleged murder in the case. A scientific team has reached the spot and launched an investigation.
