The Meteorological Department in the country has once again issued an alert regarding rain and storm. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of heavy rain and storm in about 23 states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on June 21.

According to the latest forecast, adverse weather conditions may be seen in 23 states of the country on June 21. In some areas, there is a possibility of strong winds at a speed of 80 to 90 kilometers per hour and heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder.

The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people, farmers and travelers to keep an eye on the latest weather information and take necessary precautions. Especially in hilly and north-eastern areas, the risk of incidents like landslides, falling of trees and lightning may increase.

Chances of rain increased due to active weather systems

According to meteorologists, the trough extending from south-west central India to the east-central Arabian Sea, the cyclonic circulation formed around northern Lakshadweep and the active western disturbance in north-west India are the main reasons for the change in weather. Under the influence of these systems, rainfall activities are likely to intensify over many parts of the country. Experts say that during the active phase of monsoon, some areas may see the impact of excessive rainfall and strong winds in a short period.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorm in many states of North, East, Central and South India. in affected states

Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

There is a possibility of strong thunder, lightning and winds blowing at a speed of up to 90 kilometers per hour at many places.

Impact of weather in Delhi and North India

There is a possibility of rain and strong winds with thunderstorms in the national capital Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, the wind speed can reach 70 to 80 kilometers per hour. This is expected to bring some drop in temperature and may provide relief from the heat. A warning of heavy rain and strong winds has been issued for many districts in both western and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. In Bihar too, there is a possibility of strong thunderstorm and lightning along with rain in many districts.

Due to heavy rains in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, situations like landslides and road blockage may arise. The Meteorological Department has advised travelers and local administration to remain alert. According to experts, people traveling in hilly areas must get official weather information before travelling.

Special vigilance in North-East and Eastern India

Due to the strong storm in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and other north-eastern states, there is a possibility of uprooting of large trees and affecting power supply. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in some areas. West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha may also receive moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms, which may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.

The Meteorological Department has appealed to the farmers to keep the crops and agricultural equipment kept in the fields in a safe place. It has been advised to stay away from open spaces, trees and electric poles during strong winds and rain.
