Parbhani (Maharashtra), 20 June. A major accident took place on Saturday in the Hanuman temple of Yashwadi Devasthan located in Parbhani district of Maharashtra. At least six devotees were killed while around 40 others were injured when the roof of the assembly hall of the temple complex suddenly collapsed in the afternoon.
The accident occurred due to the collapse of the roof of the assembly hall under construction.
At the time of the accident, a program of Kirtan and Mahaprasad was going on in the temple, due to which a large number of devotees were present. It is being told that construction work was going on in the assembly hall situated in front of the temple and during this time its roof collapsed. Many people were buried under the debris, iron rods and stones. Police, district administration and relief team conducted an operation on the spot and pulled out the injured from the debris. The injured have been admitted to hospitals.
A police officer said that the accident took place on Saturday at a Hanuman temple in Yashwadi village on Manwat Road, about 190 km from Chhatrapati Shivajinagar in Parbhani district, when the roof of the ‘sabha-mandap’ of the temple suddenly collapsed at around 3.30 pm.
This temple is very old and a large number of devotees come here every Saturday. However, due to the heat during the two days, the number of devotees was relatively less. An official said that the rescue team pulled out about 25 people buried under the debris.

CM Fadnavis expressed grief, announced financial assistance
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed grief over the accident. He posted on I pay my heartfelt tribute to the departed devotees. We stand with their families in this hour of grief. Treatment of those injured in the accident is continuing. Local administration officials are present at the spot and relief and rescue operations are being carried out at a rapid pace. CM Fadnavis has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

PM Modi expressed grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the accident and announced compensation. He said on social media platform X, ‘I am very saddened by the accident in Parbhani, Maharashtra. My condolences are with those who have lost their loved ones in this accident. I pray for the speedy recovery of the deceased.
