New Delhi : BCCI has announced Team India for the three-match ODI series against England. The command of the team has once again been handed over to Shubman Gill, while veteran batsman Virat Kohli is also expected to return. However, his selection will depend on fitness clearance. Virat Kohli, who missed the ODI series against Afghanistan due to injury, has been included in the team, but he has not yet received final clearance from the medical team. Shreyas Iyer was made vice-captain

The selectors have kept a balanced mix of experienced and young players in the team. Along with captain Shubman Gill, batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan will strengthen the team’s batting. Shreyas Iyer has been made the vice-captain.

Bumrah will be seen playing ODI match after a long time

Akshar Patel, Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy have got a chance in the all-rounder department. The responsibility of fast bowling will be on the shoulders of Jasprit Bumrah. The 32-year-old fast bowler was rested for the one-off Test and three-match ODI series against Afghanistan under the BCCI’s workload management plan. Now the team has become stronger with his return. Bumrah will be seen playing ODI match after a long time. He played his last ODI match in the 2023 World Cup final. Along with Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana and Gurnoor Brar will strengthen the pace attack. Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin attack.

Varun Chakraborty out of Ireland tour

Meanwhile, the Indian team has also suffered a setback. Mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty has not yet fully recovered from his injury. He suffered an injury to his left leg during IPL 2026 and is currently rehabbing at the BCCI Center of Excellence. Because of this he has been dropped from the T20 series against Ireland.
