Special admission drive of IIT Delhi: Applications invited for 81 vacant seats for SC-ST category in PG and PhD

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), one of the prestigious technical institutes of the country, has started a special admission campaign for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category for the academic session 2026-27. Under this campaign, online applications have been invited from eligible candidates to fill the vacant seats of reserved category in PG and PhD programmes.

According to the information released by the institute, a total of 81 seats are vacant, out of which 49 seats are reserved for SC and 32 seats are reserved for ST category. The application process is going on and interested candidates can apply till June 28. At the same time, time has been given till June 29 for correction or necessary amendments in the application form.

IIT Delhi says that the objective of this special campaign is not only to fill the vacant seats, but also to reach out to those talented students who could not appear in the regular admission process due to some reason. Computer Science & Engineering and Physics departments are at the forefront in terms of number of vacant seats. Apart from this, opportunities for admission are also available in departments related to Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Biological Sciences, Textile and Fiber Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering and Design.
