There will be a big blast in the 8th Pay Commission! Women employees and pensioners may face conflict
New Delhi. The eyes of central government employees and pensioners are now fixed on the 8th Pay Commission. Many important suggestions have been given by employee organizations regarding salary, pension and other facilities. If these proposals are agreed to, then lakhs of central employees, women employees and pensioners can benefit from it.
Facilities for women employees
A demand has been raised to make the rules related to maternity benefits more effective in order to provide better work facilities to women employees. If these suggestions are accepted, then women employees may see improvements in the maternity facilities they get while on the job and the workplace related arrangements.
Demand to increase pension for pensioners
There has been a demand from pensioners regarding pension revision for a long time. Employee organizations have suggested that there should be a provision for changes in pension from time to time, so that the elderly can get financial support amid rising inflation. Along with this, in view of the medical expenses, a proposal has also been made to increase the medical allowance for pensioners.
Demand also raised regarding family pension
There has also been a demand for improvement in the family pension received by the family after the death of a government employee. Employee organizations say that keeping in mind the financial security of the family, the family pension system should be further strengthened.
Expected change in promotion and salary determination
There is also a demand of the employees that on getting promotion after Career Progression Plan (MACP), more benefits should be given in the rules related to salary determination. This can provide financial benefits to long serving employees.
Demand for equality in salary of fire employees
Demand has also been made regarding the pay scale of fire employees working in government departments. The employee side wants that there should be equality in their salaries so that they can get proper benefits according to the responsibility and risk.
Employees keep an eye on the meetings to be held in July
Many important discussions are going to take place in the coming time regarding the 8th Pay Commission. These issues can be discussed in meetings with employee organizations and representatives. If support from more organizations is received in these meetings, the possibility of taking these demands forward may increase.
Many issues including OPS also under discussion in 8th Pay Commission
The discussions related to the 8th Pay Commission also include topics related to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), pension reforms and other employee facilities. Although right now all these are demands and suggestions, the final decision will be taken only on the basis of the recommendations of the government and the Pay Commission.
