Business Desk – Bank Holiday July 2026: If there is any important work related to the bank in July, then definitely check the list of bank holidays before leaving home. According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for a total of 12 days in July 2026. Apart from Sunday, second and fourth Saturday, these also include local festivals and special occasions of different states. However, holidays will not be the same in all states. Many holidays will be applicable only in the respective states and cities.
When will banks remain closed in July?
July will start with weekly holiday on Sunday. After this, banks will also remain closed due to local festivals in different states. All banks will remain closed across the country on the second and fourth Saturday of the month, while some holidays will be limited to select cities only.
July 5: Sunday
Due to July 5 being a Sunday, all government and private banks will remain closed across the country.
July 6: MHIP Day
Banks will remain closed in Aizawl on 6th July on the occasion of MHIP Day. This holiday will be applicable only in Mizoram.
9 July: Behdienkhlam
Banks will remain closed in Shillong on July 9 due to Behdinkhlam festival.
July 11: Second Saturday
Due to July 11 being the second Saturday of the month, all banks across the country will remain closed.
July 12: Sunday
Due to 12th July being Sunday, there will be bank holiday in the entire country.
16 July: Rath Yatra, Kang (Rath Yatra) and Harela festival
On July 16, banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun and Imphal on the occasion of Rath Yatra, Kang (Rath Yatra) and Harela festival.
17 July: Death anniversary of U Tirot Singh
There will be a bank holiday in Shillong on 17th July due to the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh.
July 18: Drukpa Tse-ji Festival
Banks will remain closed in Gangtok on 18th July on the occasion of Drukpa Tse-ji festival.
July 19: Sunday
Due to July 19 being Sunday, all banks across the country will remain closed.
22 July: Kharchi Puja
Banks will remain closed in Agartala on 22nd July on the occasion of Kharchi Puja.
July 25: Fourth Saturday
Due to July 25 being the fourth Saturday of the month, all banks across the country will remain closed.
July 26: Sunday
Due to 26th July being Sunday, all banks across the country will remain closed.
Which services will remain operational if banks remain closed?
Despite bank branches remaining closed, ATM, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, UPI, IMPS, NEFT (as per schedule) and Digital Banking services will remain available as usual. Customers will be able to easily make online money transfers, bill payments and other digital transactions.
Before going to the bank, definitely check the list of holidays.
If you have to deposit cash, check clearance, demand draft, update passbook or do any important work related to the bank branch, then go to the bank only after seeing the list of holidays.
